Since the mid-nineteen nineties, Theodore Alexander have been producing some of the world’s finest luxury furniture from its headquarters based in the renowned design centre in High Point, North Carolina, USA. Between its sites and manufacture mainly in Vietnam, they have over five thousand employees hand creating subtle glamour with timeless appeal, or more contemporary ranges from the TA Studio collection both using time-honoured techniques by skilled artisans.
For over 25 years, Theodore Alexander has been producing furniture with a worldwide appeal and are considered to be one of the finest luxury brands available. Comprising lighting and accessories as well as furniture ranges to suit a range of styles, the brand was conceived by Englishman Paul Maitland Smith (since 2019 an American Furniture Hall of Fame honouree). After striving to recreate many traditional classic and antique furniture pieces himself early in his career, he then exceeded quality expectations and suggested design twists to form new directions. With his own new originals, Paul was an early pioneer of seeking production using Asian craftmanship for manufacturing at the highest levels of quality. Each piece is constructed as if it were to be an heirloom to outlast a lifetime.
Part of the Theodore Alexander mantra is to add to beauty by using the most interesting materials. For instance, to create detailed and complex designs incomparable in quality, they work hand-in-hand with a range of artisans to manifest their coveted 8-way hand-tied upholstery.
